INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Emerald Keepers is seeking motivated high school interns for the 2023-2024 school year to contribute a minimum of 32 hours of work as described below:

Work in the CHS Emerald Keepers Garden and Compost (Minimum of 6 days)
Help with Emerald Keepers’ events
Coordinate of Passion Project (Zero Waste | Emerald Green, Ocean Blue Classrooms | Plastic Ban | GHG Reduction Program)
Support Trading Card Program
Lead Elementary School Workshops
Assisting with Emerald Green, Ocean Blue Restaurant Program.

SCOPE OF WORK

By submitting an application for this program, potential interns – if accepted—commit to no less than 32 hours of extra-curricular volunteer work as described herein.

Each intern will maintain a work log to be submitted on the last day of each month to amy@emeraldkeepers.org.
Interns will attend one meeting a month in the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library (September - May). This time will be use to teach skills and share opportunities for interns, work on passion projects. No meeting in December.
Interns will attend one Emerald Keepers Board Meeting.
Each intern will also work at several Emerald Keeper’ events.
Attend and assist with the October 11 Community Symposium.
Passion Projects will be planned and executed throughout the year.

CHARTING YOUR FUTURE

All interns will work in collaboration with Emerald Keepers Board of Directors and other high school students. Interns will gain work experience and skills important to include on college applications, resumes, and job applications. Colleges and employers are looking for students with successful internships.

WHO MAY APPLY?

All high school students who live and/or attend Coronado High School may apply.
